CELEBRATING 20 YEARS OF EXCELLENCE

In 2002 David and Daphne opened D&D McWilliams Opticians to provide a more bespoke approach to eye care in the local community. They believed in a thorough and caring, health-led experience for patients in our family run, Independent setting

David sadly passed away in 2021 and we will continue to honour his memory by providing eyecare in the professional and caring manner he always exemplified.

Our new Directors Debbie and Alexy took over from Daphne in May 2023. Together, with many of the original team, they are working to continue the exceptional patient care that David and Daphne created.

MEET OUR TEAM

Laura Rudd - Optometrist, BSc Hons MCOptom

Laura graduated from Cardiff University in 2006 and has been practicing with us since 2015. Over the last 10 years she has worked for Conlons and Boots Opticians and has many patients who have followed her due to the excellence of her care and professionalism.

Gail Braddock - Optical Advisor

After Daphne, Gail is the longest standing team member. Gail is a good listener who feels it is important to feel confident as well as comfortable in your chosen spectacles. She is very particular and has a great eye for detail. Speak to Gail about her office lenses.

Lily Brett - Optical Advisor

Lily joined us in January 2015 bringing years of experience with her from Conlons Opticians. As a confident Optical Advisor she is always willing to give an honest opinion on frame choice regarding fit and style.

Marta Sienicka - Optical Advisor

Marta joined us in 2021 and has 10 years of experience, previously working for Rayner's Opticians and Specsavers. She has a passion for frame choice and for bright colours and something a little different for the patient who wants to stand out.

Tracey Murray - Optical Receptionist

Tracey has 20 years of experience in Optics and joined us in 2020 from K France Opticians. She's part of our reception team and has a thorough knowledge of the pre-examination tests before your appointment.

Ken Deer - Dispensing Optician

Ken is our dispensing optician. He specialises in colourimetry, and has a passion for improving patients' quality of life through their reading ability.
